My passion for adventure travel, extensive experience in the outdoors, and working with small groups of people doing amazing things, naturally led me to find Andean Treks, one of the most respected operators of treks and tours in South America.  I enjoy working with people, getting people outdoors and immersed into world cultures and natural wonders, either to challenge themselves or to have fun.  I like to think the end result is that people will learn from their experiences and from the innovations of other cultures to live healthy and enjoyable lives, with respect for the natural world.

I have extensive travel experience, living in Peru for nearly two years and Ecuador for six months, and also traveling to Argentina, Bolivia, across the US, Scandinavia, UK, Switzerland and other parts of Europe.  Throughout my travels, I’ve worked on a variety of environmental restoration projects including river clean-ups, trail maintenance, and invasive species eradication, as well as guiding adventure-cultural trips, leading walks, treks, cycling trips, and working on multi-day rafting trips in the world-class Apurimac River in Peru. I’ve both led and designed a variety of customized trips.

I earned a degree in Geography from the University of Montana, Missoula and then worked in GIS mapping for a few years.  Desiring more experiential geography, I went on to lead adventure-cultural trips in South America.  For several years I lived in Ecuador and Peru, working on-the-ground, tracking the endangered Andean Spectacled Bear, paddling through the world’s tallest mangroves, tasting fresh fruits and ceviches, sipping extraordinary hot chocolates, watching the sun rise as I peered out from my first 19,000-foot volcanic summit.  Surrendering to the rhythm of salsa and many other indigenous dances provided priceless moments of my life.  These experiences, the spontaneity of travel and meeting new, life-long friends, have no substitute.  I give slide-shows and salsa classes inspiring others to embark on their own active adventures.

I’m glad to have found Andean Treks.  We share a commitment to the natural world and high-quality adventure travel.  We understand that each adventure must be suited to the individual.  I enjoy the challenge of working with people to create their perfect trip, to both satisfy their goals and leave them thoroughly amazed.  I look forward to speaking with you, meeting you, and learning more about your ideal trip to the Andes region!

Andean Treks is a great group of fun, motivated and inspiring individuals, dedicated to excellent, personalized service.
